Oh yes, times without a phone... and a flat tyre or an overheating radiator ... at night ... and getting into that dive of a bar to get to a phone and call for help. The things we survived, with a bit of luck. Now you're getting me nostalgic too, thanks Carter!
I am in my 50's too and the 80's were my favorites too, felt so simple back then and I felt we were all happy but I was sheltered and naive back then, no clue to reality yet like today! I was too young to watch the "news" and my parents 'protected me' from all the bad stuff (is how I was sheltered). One of my classmates was abducted and they refused to tell me! My classmate had to tell me himself. I added your book to my TBR!
My current WIP is dual timeline—now and 1979. I’ve had a blast writing about the late seventies in my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. The lack of technology would shock young people. Isolation, lack of instant communication and knowledge are the trifecta of fun for a crime writer.

All of these!

Wow, abducted! That's truly scary.
Why does human psychology tend to remember the good times and bury the bad? Great reflections and thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Christopher!
I love this, Carter!

Thanks, Susie! I love watching movies set in the 70s especially.
It doesn't matter the genre, I'm obsessed with stories set in the 80s and 90s. Now I know why! Thank you Carter!
Wait wait wait ... there is an 80s movie starring Ponyboy AND the replicant guy from Blade Runner? WHAT. Running to Netflix.
